My transmission doesn't have a vent

ok, I had an idea the other day...

In addition to the line running straight to the air cleaner box, how about another "T" with a valve and a regulator set to 1 or 2 PSI going to the air supply?

That way, in normal operation, the valve is set to vent axles, TC, and transmission to the air supply. In fording mode, you switch the position of the valve before you hit the water to pressurize those systems to 1 or 2 PSI, just like in the fording kit.

You could even have the valve be a solenoid, so all you'd have to do to switch is press a button in the cab. And add an air pressure switch on it to power a light, kind of like the front axle engagement switch, so you have feedback to tell you if the system is operating correctly.

What say ya'll?

I don't know. That's part of why I'm mentioning the idea here.

But I can't imagine it's very much. All it needs is just enough positive pressure to keep water from invading the seals. And water pressure at a depth of 3 feet can't be very high.

you would need to put a shut off valve at the end of the line to hold the pressure in the system, you could manualy close it before you put the bellhousing fording plug in.
