"Sir, this is GL. We posted the wrong pics and description. The 5 ton you paid $10,000 for is actually a Ford Escort painted green. We're sorry for the mix up."

Do you have a contact name from the Email? I'm wondering who to contact within GL, when I loose and want to make an offer to the winner, after the auction ends.

Maybe we can all try this for a while!

If they do it for them, they should do it for us?

Maybe the contact will be a Manager in the Shill Bidding dept...

If they wanted them, they should have bid like they wanted them! It's only money!

:ditto: Whats the name of this company so we know who not to buy from and let them get stuck with thier 2 lots for awhile. Im guessing when they asked if you wanted to buy their lots they weren't offering them up at the minimum bid price?

Why boycott them? They didn't do anything underhanded at all. They simply contacted him with a business offer.

I wish I had known GL does this a long time ago. There have been quite a few mixed lots I only wanted part of, but didn't bid on because the other stuff drove it up above what I would pay. I would be happy to contact the high bidder with an offer.

Likewise, when I buy a mixed lot, I have no problem with Government Liquidation sending a potential buyer to me.

I think your right Chief, I think it must be something about GL that just makes me PO'd and unfortunately it gets wrongfully passed off by me. But I am 99percent certain that if I asked GL to contact someone for me, they would say "sorry, not our job".

I have to agree with Chief but if GL allows the practice it could open the door up to abuse. The real question is, is the seller in bed with GL? Most auction compaines highly frown on deals going on on their items withoutout them being involved ( getting their commision). At the local live auctions around here it will get you banned if you get caught. That's why I'm suprised GL is allowing this practice. Could be a big time buyer I guess and they accommodate them because they spend alot of money with them.

You know GL "courts" the big time buyers. I often wonder what kind of inside info they get that us common folks never know about.

Companies- and the law- only really frown on deals being made about auction items before the sale. After the sale is done, all is fair game.

No contact name just a generic GL email.

The lady only wanted what she had bid for them.

I offered to sell her my 3 lots for close to what I paid.

She said her manager wanted all 7 lots...... Oh well maybe they will bid more next time.
