I spent a good part of the weekend looking through various TM's, but I still can't find a picture of what i'm looking for. I have found all the inpection ports for everything else except the dang tranfer case. Anyone have a pic they could post, or an accurate description to help me? I know im gettin old, but not as old as this truck!

And the brake master cylinder, looks to be a vent line coming off the top. Do you have to take that off everytime you want to insect the fluid level?

And please don't chime in with "Read the TM's" cause I am sick with trying to find what I need with these computer versions. I am currently looking for an actual manual, something I can turn pages with if anyone has any for sale.:cookoo:

for the master cylinder, yes, take it off every time to check the fluid level. check the t-case fluid level by in screwing the fill port and filling it up to the bottom of the hole

Not sure if this is what you want, the fluid fill plug is on the passenger side of the T-case 4-6 inches from the bottom.

You can see quite a bit with the t-case's top cover off, using a flashlight.... You should be able to see the uneven wear, if any, that Gerhard (gringeltaube) has pointed out in another post.... Just be careful if you do, the shift lever detent spring is under there.

I'm the same way. I like to search the TMs in digital form for key words, but I like a printed manual to actually 'use'. Put the TM on a CD and have it printed and put in a 3-ring binder. I do that with all my TMs, so you get the best of both worlds.

Thanks guys for all the replies. If it ever quits raining I will go out and check again. Only plug I have been able to find was at the bottom so I assume it is the drain. The TC is the only thing I havn't been able to check the fluid level of and its starting to bug me!aua
