I moved the my wiring harness in the process of shortening my frame. I started to reinstall it today and realized I am not sure how to remount the trailer receptacle. The is nothing indicating which side is "up" The only unique mark on the receptacle is a small slit on the round metal sleave. Any ideas?

I just went out and looked at mine, and I found it has an "indexing" line casted in at the top of the metal sleeve. This is so the trailer male inserts and it's protective cover when open, is facing down. Hope this makes some sense to you.

When I picked up my M101A2 I fabricated a hitch pigtail and ordered a receptable from Erik's. I has a ridge built into the round collar and the trailer plug only inserts one way.

The receptacle on my deuce does not have this ridge. I will take a picture and post.
