MEP-015A. 1500 watts and well worth $25. LOL, it's worth a "C" note despite the wrap and hope starter. I'd buy it for $100 if I could watch him start it!

It looks like it might be a variant of the 1.5 kw MEP-015A, I have seen photos showing a few variations in the control panels and fuel tanks on them, and this looks close.

Standard 1500w mil genset. The model # escapes me right now.
Yep standard 1.5KW. Good for running a couple light sets etc and other SMALL uses.

I have one and really like it. It's worth a hundred bucks if...like me, you just want a small military generator.
If you want a generator you can really use for heavier use just throw in a couple hundred bucks and get a much better civilian set.

Under rated is relative, it is more like most modern civilian generators are extremely over rated, I don't know about the MEP-015a, (I have a diesel MEP-016b/701a 3kw) but most of the military units of similar size are designed to do full rated output 24/7. There is no direct comparison, but I would rate it about on par with the typical 3500 watt "surge" generator of today, but built much more solid, be aware these tend to drink fuel at a faster rate too.

Ike

p.s. Think of it as being capable of running any one thing that plugs into a standard 15 amp plug. (or several light draw items)

015a i had one. it would handle a 1500 watt load easy.theirs a switch in the control box to allow 220 volt. uses .5 gph if the carb. and plugs are good not to hard to start. theirs a prime lever on the fuel pump to get gas to the carb. before starting.

That is one fine generator, I ran my entire house from one of those for a week during Hurricane Ike. Does not burn much gas and has the umph to start a refrigerator, while running lights, TVs, fans, washing machine, etc.
