Sure would be a lot more versatile. Light enough that I could build a custom receiver hitch-type mount for it, and use it on the front or back of Mah Deuce, move it between vehicles, etc. Lot less weight hanging out there over the front-end too, although, I guess I might not even keep it mounted up on the front of the truck.

Let your imagination flow, don't limit yourself to front and back. We have FD Rescue trucks that have receivers on the sides also. The winches can be put anywhere they are needed.

I was going to question whether or not the duty cycle of the winch would be an issue, but drawing 252A at max pull, the deuce electrical system would stroke out long before the winch.

Oh, for sure. I'm building an enclosed trailer that will be configured like a mobile workshop, and I'm mounting all my tools on receiver hitches. You know, things like vises and tubing notchers and whatnot. So I'm going to have receiver hitches all over the place.
