In anticipation of going after my deuce (waiting on paperwork to clear) I called my Interstate battery rep. and told him I needed a pair of 6TL's and he said "I know exactly what you're talking about. He sent over 2 brand new shinney units and they are labeled "U6TL".

Anybody have any input if I have the right stuff here?

What is the difference between an Interstate U6TL and an Interstate AU6TL battery? I called Interstate and the rep told me he had no idea what the difference was except that they were listed separately. I searched the forum and couldn't find any references to an AU6TL battery.

I prefer Hawker 6TAGM's myself but they can be pricey. The oldest I have is an 03' though and will still accept a full charge. I can't get 4 years out of a civi battery but I've got almost 8 year old AGM's that are good to go.

The Interstate batteries in my deuce said "2007" on them when I picked it up a year ago this week. They died over the summer of 2010 and were replaced by Wal Mart batteries that are so far doing great. Solargizer is in effect also (as it was when I got it).

The Navy started dumping 6TLs for Ultimas years ago in most of our Support Equipment. Now pretty much everything has the red tops in it.

Wish I'd a known you were on the lookout. I probably could have saved you some dough but it would have been pickup only.

Good luck with your pickup. Where's it at???

I checked on some 6tl Deka batteries for my truck about 6 months ago. I don't remember the CCA but the price was $140 each. Needless to say, I went with good civilain batteries that were $140 for both of them.

I pulled out my batteries and box the other day , need to change both out ( Deka 6LT are old and won't hold a charge and the battery box is rusted out ). New battery box And I bought a set of Duralast Gold 65-DLG from Autozone. 3 year free replacement and a 5 year after that prorated ( not bad ). 850 @ CCA / 1000 @ CA at 32 degrees. Reserve of 150. My deuce loves them starts right up on a cold morning here in Michigan. Price was $210 for both and 10% off for being a veteran
