I spent good money on the SF97 and then found out I could have got by without it in Kansas. Just needed the government release, bill of sale and the inspection. Chalk me up for another 60 days waiting and 70 bucks blown.....

I have plates in hand. In my State you definately need the SF97. It makes the entire process MUCH easier and is really the only way to do it in Nevada. The only problem I ran into was the bottom signatures on the SF97 didnt have one persons title and who they worked for but the DMV was able to handle it anyway. Took an extra 5 minutes while they made some calls. All in all it went pretty easy even when they grabbed the blue book to try and figure out what kind of vehicle I have. A quick comment from me "Chevy long bed standard cab 4x4 3500" sped that part up pretty quick. I think the $60 bucks spent for the SF97 really smoothed out what could have been a pain in the arse and therefore worth every penny. My personallized plate though raised raised some eye brows and was sent to a board for revue....... It might be offensive? Yah to some skinny ass Liberal Left Winged Democrat Progressive! Not related to the Democratic party of old. They are an extinced group these days. If (when) it gets turned down I have a back up plate in mind. In the mean time I recieved a set of standard plates since the board may take some time to review. Pics Tommorow when they are mounted.

A SF-97 is a form that is basically a government title. Federal vehicles don't have a actual title, so when you buy a rig they issue this form. At the DMV you just show them this form and do a VIN inspection and then your paper work goes through with no waiting, that's the way it is in Oregon at least.

You got a bill of sale when you purchased from GL?
