airpack exploded view

Ok guys, I have been all through the resources and old threads. Maybe I have missed it. But I need and exploded view of the old style deuce airpack. Also if there is a TM for rebuilding one that I missed that someone knows about please direct me there. Your wise help and sage words of wisdom is already appreciated.

Can somebody please confirm that this is the TM with the correct instructions and images (as opposed to the TM with a mis-labelled picture, leading to false assembly and non-functional airpacks)

the next step is finding the seals and such to rebuild it. I just purchase a new one. I did not want to take any chances.

Assembly instructions in this one, on page 12-45, are correct but exploded view still may be confusing for some... (as both cups are shown almost identical)

Hi; The trick to doing this correctly is as follows.

One, do not remove all the seals and pieces and parts as the instructions tell you to as you take things apart. This only serves to make it harder to get the new parts on correcly when you put the airpack back together.

Two, Always follow rule number one.

The confusion comes when you have a bunch of parts with no seals or any other parts on them and then you have to install the seals and whatever else correctly. I found it so much easier to disassemble the airpack and lay the parts out and then as I reassembled the parts after honing the slave cylinder and compensator bore in the slave cylinder assembly I would install the new parts then and only then immediately after I took the old seals off. This way you cannot go wrong.

I do not mean to sound overly simplistic, but this is the only way to do this correctly every time.

Yes, agreed, but then again, I have rebuilt many airpacks and am pretty familiar with the innards.

If an airpack worked correctly and then stopped working,, or failed gradially you can be pretty confident that the innards are correct. ANy unknown situation bears more research and careful inspection. I have a small binder with step by step instructions that I prop up at the back of my bench where I rebuild the airpacks and I can check anythiung that seems out of place or incorrect. That is just how I do it.
