Radio set up in m1009

Well being gathering parts to set up the radios in my M1009 even do it came with antena brackets i was able to get a 3rd one as well the radio stand, is being going slow , still need the R-442 set up to complete it , i made the stand for the PRC25 thas on it , need to learn a lot but i think looks good in a car show and going down the road, notice the AMERICAN ICON on top of one of he antenas thanks

Nice setup! The small antenna looks like one I just ordered from MurhpyJunk - covers 136-174 MHz, so I'll be able to have my M1028 on the 2M ham band.

Also have a complete CUCV mount inbound from eBay - Militarysurplusparts

Next I'll have to figure out how to secure a radio mounting plate to the top of the dash. Any ideas?

Well the dash is steel under the cover so if you can fab a base with at least one attachment bolt througth the dashpad and secure under with nut and then run your front legs down towards the area of the ash trade then secure it there would be solid hope this helps

Did the m1009 have more then just the rt524? I have the bracket, I believe in my m1009 for the rt524. All the power is supplied to it. How can I tell if the antenna is the correct one for the rt524?

yes most m1009's where used as command and control trucks so most had the RT-524 with a R-442 next to it. Now his was a main CC truck so his is mounted with RT 524s and some nice goodeys.

Cool, I am finding those radios are expensive. I have found them anywhere from 400.00 to 700.00. The guy selling the 700.00 one says he has provides the equipment to tell what freq's your running. Is this BS or is he telling the truth? I am clueless when it comes to these radios. I want to put the radio back in my m1009 that was supposed to be there.

not sure what he means the RT-524 you can see the Freq's your runing ... but 700 you know it works but i got a used broken one that does't transment and receve so i got a test kit, found out what was broken and fixed it........ for $300 some people sell the module's like off ebay sometimes there cheep like 30$ or so... and you can find used R-442's for like $100 bucks also. i went for the used radio look nothing new or fancy.

Let me understand this the antennas are for 2 meters but your radios are six meters or is the picture shown you dont have the second section on them ive always been told if you run a RT-524 or RT-246 with out the correct antenna youll burn out the finals in those radios just curious, is that a KY-57 secure box thats on the end. Thanks

Currently the antenna base I have on my m1009 has this as a part number on the bottom
Base mount- A5- 3800 A/VRC
Whip - 80063 ASSY A3018230-1
MFR 05211

Does anyone know if this set up will work with the Rt524. Which radio in the first pic is the rt42? My rack only has a plug in for one radio I believe.

yes as mulemac01 comented , the R-524 and the R-442 where the most standars of the radios, not to sure about the antenas as i understand they have seceral types including ones with adjustability but maybe some one here with more knowlege may delegeta

you can use a jumper from the R-524 which is the big radio on the picture to the R-442 that i do not have yet ,which i belive is call a which bone

I am not certain if Panzer is using the antenna I posted a photo of (the one covering 136-174 Mhz), only that it LOOKS the same.

I am interested in this antenna, as I will install a non-military VHF radio in my M1028 - an ICOM IC-V8000, which operates at 146 Mhz, +/- 2Mhz.

the antenas are not conected and not even sure if they are corect to the radios but sure look good and as i learn more will hook the corect one
