Are the bed liner costings you guys used a 1 part or 2 part coating? The paint store I shop at has a couple of 2 part bed liner coatings. The owner said they are the same as the pros use to line truck beds and hold up much better than the 1 part coatings.

I have used herculine on several applications but if you put two coats it isnt enough....it flakes and peels.

IMO it takes about 4 thick coats for the stuff to be really tough and not flake

I used the Duplicolor Duplex bed armor with Kevlar in it. I havnt had a single problem with it. My work truck bed gets the crap beat our of it with big metal cages sliding over it too.

the raptor is a 2 part coating. The polymer and tinting and then a hardener. Much better system than the hurculiner or duplicolor but almost twice the price.

What kind of primer did you use Nick? At work we were repainting
a "BUNCH" of HMMWV FLA's and we had a heck of a time with using the
white Epoxy primer the Govt. specd. finally quit using it.......problem
solved, you couldn't beat it off with a hammer!!! LOL

I used, at the recommendation of techs at hurculiner, "Alkyd Metal Primer" from Sherwin Williams. Its said to control rust, which I said was no big deal since I had the bed sand blasted. They said, and it said in the directions on the can, to wipe it down afterwards with acetone. All that was done, and with three coats on, if I slide something across it, it scrapes down to the white primer and I hafta patch it.

Some time ago i used Zolatone to do a '71 K5. Did the whole rig inside and out. The only time I had part of it scratch or chip was when it "acquired" large dents from immovable objects.

I would say the primer is the source of your issues from what I've seen/done on my trucks.
