Rally Information

The MVCC (Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado) is seriously entertaining the idea of hosting a rally somewhere in the Mountain/Plains area. The location would be central to Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona. Who would be a knowledgable person to talk to in planning such an endeavor?

Where ever you plan on having it, you need to talk to the owner or BLM or agency in charge of the area. See what permits you would need. If its close to north west NM, I would help out however I can.

Here on SS, you should contact those who have put on rallys in the past, probably via PM. Right off the top of my head I would say Clinto, cgarbee, devilman, Timntrucks, wreckerman, neilhendrix, and gimpy for advice east east of the Mississippi. The Cali groups and the PNW rally folks might have better ideas for you because of the wide open spaces (and travel distances) involved.

The biggest hurdle in a first one, is to get the correct location. For example, the Helen, GA location was really nice but had several issues with future growth and trail rides. The current location is great. If you can find a good location out there with places to drive both on and off road with camping/cabin rentals and food, you are halfway there. If it's in the fall count me in!
