Did the a3 in the video have locker or open diffs? Here are some more vids of the a3s in the packed snow drift about 3-4 feet deep.
All I can say is that when you come to a drift in an m35 a3 go fast and dont stop! I found out that if you think your stuck dont stop and keep going. You go very very slow with all tiers spinning, but most of the times you will get out.
Now when the drift is hard pack and over 3 ft deep you cant go no where after you sink in,(go fast) chains would not help you out!
I see your playing in the yard (more or less) but what if you needed to get somewhere as in miles away - Say 20 miles for sake of argument? On unplowed roads. Can a vehicle such as this, with singles aired down, chains and lockers realistically make such a trip? I'm obviously not talking about making any great speed, I would just be happy with good steady progress. Realistic or no? If no, how do you do it in such a vehicle. (And don't say "Mattracks"...lol..
For perspective, the reason I ask this is: All my adult live, in fact since about age 5 or 6 I have lived in the southern US and never had to deal with this. However, once my M920 RV is completed I will be making a trip to Prudhoe Bay during the winter and I'll have to deal with that white stuff to do it. Is there anything I can build into the truck to make it more capable in those conditions (Other than a main and tail rotor and some flight controls in the cab) I'm Talking about driveability/mobility, not creature comfort.
