I swapped out my big wheel for a crank up gear and now I am having a bit of trouble. It doesn't seem to want to rotate freely. This is my first go at this other than overtightening the nut on top (which I didn't) how could you go wrong? Any tips or advice, and yes I did grease it up.

Figured out most of my problem, it is bent. Not too horrible and I think I will be ok except for the shaft that goes between the rollers, it is bent too, which is not allowing the unit to spin once weight is put on it.Anyone know where I could get a replacement, or if I took it off could it be straightened?

Are you saying that when there is weight on it, it wont spin around or that it wont roll? They are hard to spin even when they aren't bent. I Just pulled one off the trailer I parted out. What parts do you think you need?

The shaft that goes thru the rollers, hard to see from the pic but it is bent pretty good and not allowing the rollers to turn in unison.I would be interested in the shaft if she is straight, thanks,

that new one looks sort of flimsy.Do they hold up well?

Every M105a3 I have seen in the GL yard on Ft Riley has that support leg either bent or broken off.

I knocked out the roll pin and pulled the axle for you. I just have to find a box and get it sent out.

Man, you get free parts delivered to you and you want it to be brand new.

Sheeeesssshhhh.

Just kidding, If KSM715 can't get you the part, I may be able to.

The landing leg on the M105A3 is flimsy. I would maybe roll mine empty on a paved surface with it, carefully, but not under other circumstances.
The military have a MWO that adds a brace and larger pin to it, but they still seem to break.

Cheers

As M813rc said, the M105A3 landing gear is junk (I've had 2 and both were boogered up). What they have that is handy though is the seperate cranking jack that's stored on the fender. I use it on my MKT and it works wonderfully.

We may need to find another axle for combst32's trailer. He got the USPS Flat Rate envelope ( I should have used a box) I sent him but no axle. Seems it tore open and fell out somewhere between here and there.

KsM715 do you have any plans for the part of the landing grear that mounts it to the trailer?? I have one that the nut stripped the threads off when I removed it. Kind of makes it hard to put back on:roll: that way.
