Hello everyone. Waiting for the govt to approve my sale, but assuming it goes through I'll soon be the proud owner of a 1971 M109 (first MV). Can't wait to get her home and get to work!

I plan to turn her into a camper / expeditionary vehicle. I've already seen lots of great ideas here, lots of knowledge and craftsmanship. SS looks like the place for MV hobbyists.

Hope everyone has a Great Memorial day weekend!

Thanks. I'm sure getting her home will be an adventure all it's own, gotta pick her up in Sparta, WI. Reading Tech Manuals, SS forums, and piling up supplies for now.

Yep, I've been bit by the bug! Was dormant till a couple weekend ago when I went to an airshow. They had all kinds of restored stuff besides airplanes; jeeps, a German 88mm howitzer (that worked!), a couple tracked vehicles. Next thing you know I'm bidding on a Deuce!

Goose2448: It was at the aviation museum in Pungo. Cool place with all kinds of restored WW2 planes that fly, and old guys who fly them. I end up there once every other month or so, meeting the old-timers or watching stuff fly.

Round One of recovery adventure finished a couple of weeks ago. Had to take time from work on a day's notice, flew up to take custody of truck, a day and a half coaxing her off the base to where I could get a tow (no brakes, no matter how many tricks I tried; luckily e-brake worked, so 10 mph to just outside base gate), then watch Deuce (from my rental car) do 65 mph down hwy on back of tow truck to truck shop. It was the master cylinder. Got home, next day went on travel for 2 weeks.

Still have to replace alternator (aftermarket, built in regulator is failed). She should be ready for round 2 here in a week or so, all checked out for the drive home. Will take pics this time.
