Are the M818 12volts or 24volts?

are all of the M818 12volts or 24 volts. I have seen where people where having to convert the 24 volt traielr light to 12 volts for civy trailers but the truck i just bought from GL says that it is 12 volts when you click on the nsn number at the bottom. it says 4 batteries but 12 volts. did they change them over or maybe a miss print.

The batteries are 12v batteries. But they are wired in series to make 24v.

Most M818s have 4 batteries. The truck is all 24v.

There are 4 batteries wired in a series/parallel configuration. Output is 24 VDC.

Two sets of 2x 12V batteries wired in series gives you essentially 2x 24V batteries. Wiring those two sets in parallel with each other gives you one 24V power supply that can source twice the current.

Actually, there is one 12v circuit on an M818(the intake heater).

That is if the truck still has the intake heater....

Never use it so I forgot about it.
