I got the M915 back to the LZ today (no pics of the recovery but it was uneventful).
When we got ready to load her up we found that some Ahole had taken a fitting off the fuel pump and she could not be cranked. We used a truck on the yard to charge the air system and winched her up on the trailer.
Got her back to the LZ and rolled her off the trailer under a shade tree.
Elmo provided close supervision while I did some trouble shooting.
The batteries are dead as the proverbial doornail and I have them on slow charge now.
My big concern is the steel fuel line runs from the pump all the way around to the back of the engine (it is the line that carries fuel to the injectors). I had to cut the line off (the moron twisted the fuel line off) and I am hoping I can get a fitting that will allow me to join the line without replacing the whole thing. There is absolutly no way to get to the back of the engine to take the line off.
I am going over to an old school diesel shop tomorrow to see if he has a short piece of line and the fittings I need.
I also need to re-install the driveshaft but my buddy that helped me with the recovery gave me some good tips to get it done.
The truck was issued to a unit but the 5th wheel looks like it had never been under a trailer. It also has a brand new IV cable in the box under the passenger seat.
Time will tell if I have purchased a piece of citrus fruit.
