I made it back today with an A3 and an M105. The A3 is heading to OH and the trailer is going just down the street. The A3 had an issue of a broken bracket on the generator. Some simple field engineering of a ratchet strap and a 2x4 cut down to size and she was good to go. There is also a piece broken that holds the mustache spring on the parking brake, I hope to have that figured out by the time he gets here to get the truck. This was the first A3 I have ever driven and I was very surprised at the death wobble. I have heard about this and read about it, but never thought it would be that bad. Once the tires had warmed up and rounded out again all was fine, with the exception of it coming without warning every once in a while. The main thing is the truck made it to the shop and all is fine. I did my best to capture a video of the wobble, but I don't think it does it justice. Another sucessful recovery. Of course I found out when I got home I may have one heading to NY in the near future. Good chance to go visit the in-laws, and maybe Mr Head.

The A3 I picked up on Friday is on it's way to it's new home in OH. They came up in the middle of the night and we met at the shop this morning. Changed the oil and the filters, then swapped out one of the front tires. Our hope was to eliminate the wobble, it was reduced somewhat but is still there. When they left they even had a nice addition in the form of my M105A2. Hope thye enjoy it more than I did.

Still looking for more OD Iron to drag home from McCoy, so let me know what you need picked up.

I just got the phone call that the EUC has cleared for one that will be going to NY. Looks like I will be on my way back up to McCoy in the next few days again. Anything anyone needs looked at?

I can show off my Supa dupa A3 with it's bad self one wire self exciting $99 Delco(dang chinese built under delco liocense so it allegedlly can be rebuilt because corporate whore polititians are selling the United States of America out- vote them all out!!!!!:rant:)

Made it back with an A2 and an A3 today. The A3 did surprisingly well. All we needed for the A3 was a piece of all thread to replace the upright mirror bar on tha pass side. If only all the fixes were so easy.
The A2 has a bad master cylinder and is leaking pretty good out of the front, but I was able to get some brakes on it. Discovered a large hole in the hard top that once held a gun ring. For the most part she checked out good until we were about 35 miles from the shop. Had to stop and fix a leak in the injector return line, the pully for the air compressor collapsed and the belt loosened up, one direction stopped working and the right rear axle started leaking. All should be mostly easy fixes, I hope.

That was a long one long hot day. Driving the Dan Ryan was a blast. The truck ran great, seemed to shake pretty good at an idle. The left front seemed to develop a shake over fifty. Also, every 30 to 40 minutes I would hear a howl from what seemed like the dash. It would last for 1-2 minutes then go away?? The truck averaged about 10.5 miles per gallon which is way better than I thought I would get. A big thanks again to Kenny whose assitance made this recovery much more fun. He took almost 200 miles off my trip! Thanks brother!

Are you headed to pick up anything Monday at ft. McCoy? I have a 101 trailer and two 5 ton transmissions there. I have to take my son to orientation at Lakeland Collage north of you Monday and Tuesday. Could drop by and pick it up Tuesday if it works. PM me if its' something that could work out.

I have an appointment on Monday morning so I will not be able to go until Tuesday at the earliest. The plan as of now is to go early Tuesday morning, grab a few trailers and set the rest up for my return trip on Friday. If I can get enough for 2 loads on my buddys drop deck we'll make 2 runs with that this week.

I'm glad you are happy with the dolly set. But........

Today was still the day from ****.

Got to post at 8:30, Seth was alone today so we had to wait for him to finish loading a truck before we could get started. Made a mistake of telling a gentleman that came in after us for one pallet of wire that he could go ahead before us. Little did I know that it was in a locked building that no one had a working opener for and the keys had never been used in the service door, let alone anyone ever use the service door. Finally got started a little after 11:00 to get loaded. Did I mention monsoon season started today in Sparta?

First order of business was to get the last 2 trailers over to the group and start trying to figure out how to load them all. I have seen post and pics on here of how Seth was able to roll a 101 over and load it on top of another 101 and I thought that was the best way to load all of todays trailers, worst case I would need to go back up tomorrow with the Ford and grab a left over 101. Having never been part of this before I thought it was best to try rolling one of my trailers first, infact I figured I'd roll all of mine so I didn't run the risk of damaging anyone elses trailer. After watching the trailer go up in the air and seeing all the slack in the chain I stopped the whole process and said no thank you not for me. Did I mention the rain they were having up there today?

After loading the step deck one way and then another way I finally said forget it. I know I have to go back for one more trip I don't want to screw around in the rain anymore just get 4 101's on the trailer and the dolly set. I will catch some heat for this as I did say I could fit 8 trailers on a flat bed, so here I am eating my words, with a tall glass of rain water, I got a total of 5 trailers on the flat bed, the same as most normal people. Did I mention I have never been this wet before, not even in a pool?

We headed out for trukhead's place and just hoped we would dry off on the way there. He found us a great place right on the Hwy to go with a large fork truck that we were able to lift the M1022 right off the back of the flat bed. If only the rest of the day would have been so easy. Did I mention my underware are still wet, and no I didn't pee myself.

We made it back to my shop a little after 5:00 and I got the guy on the other side of the building to come over with his big forklift. Guess what? The bar the forks ride on is bent and the forks won't spread apart far enough to even go around the tire of the trailer. So a few phone calls and some time later I had the solution. Down the road we went to a dock that was able to work with our trailer and there i proceeded to push each trailer off, by hand, onto the dock. My friend who helped with this recovery was really pressed for time so he ran me back to the shop where we dropped his flad bed so he could get home, he is getting loaded just down the street on Friday and didn't want to take the trailer out of his way before he could go home, and I proceeded to run back and forth to the dock getting each trailer. Four trips later I am finally done with todays recovery. And of course, more rain.

Now I know how everyone here loves pictures so much of any recovery weather it be good or less than good. I would love to offer all the pictures that you could ever want of this day, but at this time the subject of the pictures is still a sore spot. Without reliving the experiance of why said pictures are not available here allow me to point out one more time that we had a lot of rain today and rain and electronics don't mix.auaauaauaauaauaauaauaauaaua

Hey Kenny, thanks again for bringing my new trailer back for me. I really appreciate all of the tips and advice also. I made it home from your place to "the Falls" no problem. Now I've gotta put it to work. That monsoon you got caught in also brought down one of the Willow trees on the backside of my property. Guess it'll be hauling wood for a while. :?
