Hood hinge orientation

I am re-installing the hood on my deuce and I forgot which way the hinges are positioned. I am not sure whether the two prong portion of the hinge is on the cowl or hood side. I have attached a picture on my hinge as currently installed. Would someone please check their deuce and let me know which is the correct installation?

Tin: I don't think it would make any difference, as long as they were both the same.

Thanks Steel. I know the hinges are canted and it would sure be nice to know how the guberment installed them.

Just looked at mine, two tabs facing away from the cab on the pass side, two tabs facing the cab on the driver side. Go figure.

On my 5 ton, one is facing each direction. No issues, though.

On my trucks the big side of the pins faces out.
Also the hings look level.

took mine off once to clean them up and when I reinstalled them and tightened the bolts with the hood down,they were in a bind when I opened the hood,had to loosen the bolts again to correct the problem.

same here. i was looking at mine quite a bit yesterday, had a 100 mile haul in it.

When installed you should be able to project an imaginary line through the pivot pins. If one or both are reversed you won't be able to do that. Better yet you should be able to lay a straight edge across the top of them. Bad juju will happen to you hood if you install them incorrectly.

You have to reach up under the dash. You will need a soldier B.
I had my dash apart so it was not to bad.

That would make since, one part number for both. Since they are canted you just turn the other around so they sit level to each other.

I drove mine to work today, so when I left I looked closely at the hinges... I'm 180deg off from gimpyrobb!
