Don't freak out about the size of a M35 it is exactly 4 inches longer than my Dodge ram 2500 four door longbed.
People never believe me untill they are side by side. Deuces are massive but not huge if that makes sense.
A bobber is like a shortbed Ford 150/ Toyota tacoma in size, but built massive.

- Seriously??! I would have never thought that! I guess its just because they look so huge. Thanks! That kind of puts its size in perspective for me.

Now here's a question that I haven't seen an example of or talk of:
From what I have seen and understand on bobbing a deuce, basically they remove the rear axle and then replace the bed with a trailer bed. Or at least that what I have read on a few different sites.
But here's a question that I haven't seen an example of or talked about:
Can you take out the middle axle, but leave the rear axle intact, and leave the original bed intact??? I don't need the middle axle, as I know I will never carry that kind of weight, but I might be able to use the extra space in the bed. And I would think that this would give it a little better handling with more maneuverability. Plus this should make at least some weight reductions which should help with gas mpg slightly...?
I do realize, that a custom drive shaft would be needed to reach the rear axle, but is this even possible?
If not, could you bob it as is normally done, but leave the original full length bed intact, instead of shorting it?

The Deuce sizes are deceiving. We put mine next to my buddie's suburban and the deuce just came out 3 ft longer. I think wider and taller is where it hurts.

Yeah I guess they are! I've never seen one up close in person, that I can remember at least (but I probably have in a parade or something). But from all the photos and such, I thought they were much bigger.

You really need to find a place to see/drive one. Then you will be better equipt to formulate your plans.

You should be able to see or drive one at any Ford dealer. I don't know what these other guys have done to their Fords, but I beat the snot out of both of mine and they just keep going for me.

Yeah, that obviously the next step. I know I have seen them before at some point, but I never was looking at them thinking "Thats the kinda of truck I need...." at the time. In any case, I'm moving forward from here, there is a place I'm going to be checking out soon that apparently sells them regularly.

i like my deuce a lot and drive it to work a bunch. i dont take it on 1000 mile trips, mostly stay with in a 50 mile radius of home base. burning waste motor oil definately helps a lot on the wallet!

Where in Indiana do you do you live? I am in indiana south of indinapolis usually once a month and can drive the deuce so you can see one or find a member closer in your area. But beware once you ride in one you will be infected with green iron fever.

Drive a Deuce at a ford dealer.....?? I've never seen one at a ford dealership.

I think I found a place not to far from here that is selling several deuces. I'll probably call and go check that out as soon as I get a chance. But I do appreciate the offer.
I'm pretty sure its contagious, and I've already been continuously exposed to it since I signed up to SS several weeks ago! So its to late to go back now, and I don't think a cure has been found for MV Fever (aka: Green Iron Fever). Apparently from what I have read on this site, from other members who are currently "suffering" with this condition, the recommended treatment is a new MV in large doses on occasion, and it is usually maintained with continuous updates and improvements to your MV. Sometimes an additional MV must be added to keep the condition under control.
