So I had this crazy idea, how about this for an engine for my A3...

I've seen several M915s go through lately, and noticed that they have a Cummins NTC 400 mated with a auto 6 spd. Would that thing fit in an A3? I can't stop thinking about it. All I see is my A3 doing a burn out . I'm probably dreaming here but we'll see. What think ye?

On tires rated for under 60 mph? On brakes that were designed for 45 mph? Just look through the recent A3 tire blow out threads and that is at normal speeds. I have no dreams or desires of running 80 in a deuce.

the a3 is a 2 1/2 ton truck, you may not be worried about your self, but what about the other people you may kill or hurt, this is STUPID, buy a civi truck and put on the tin from a deuce, a lot less chance of killing somebody

I would say that swapping to a motor that turns 500 RPM slower and a transmission that was made for axles with a 4.44:1 ratio, plus all the extra weight of the motor and transmission, you'd end up with a much slower truck...

Break out your yard stick, a 400 is longer than you apparently think. You could do a nice crew cab conversion, move the firewall back, extend the steering column and sit in what should have been the back seat.

go ahead and put 2 in. You will then be able to 180 and join the NASCAR circuit.

I'll probably put some brand new rubber on it first. I'm sure it will be great. No worries.
