Bought the cucv and deuce in Texas and they did not take taxes out either. Paid the taxes when I registered them here in Louisiana.

If your worried that much about it, go on down to your revenoooers office and give them your 12.54 so you can sleep at night...;)

I live in Maryland and they tax every thing here. I was asking because other lots, I have won at GL have had the state taxes added to the invoice. The trialers that I won already have homes. I will notify GL on Tuesday.

Because you have to pay taxes to register it in MD so if they did that would be double taxing. The MVA doesnt care if you already paid taxes or not. THEY WANT THERE MONEY lol

My trailers and not tagged on MD. I do need to show proof to the state that they are tagged and registered in that the taxes were paid. Is my point I guess I am trying to make.[thumbzup]

GL isn't required to collect tax in every state. For example I have bought in Ohio, North Dakota, Alabama, and Oklahoma. I've paid taxes on every purchase except those in Oklahoma. I doubt there is a list.

To avoid double taxation you can prove to your state you already paid taxes to another state if they have reciprocity than you should be exempt. If not you can get the tax paid to the other state back but its a pain...

I had a lot which was a trailer purchase, and the initial billing did not include taxes, only the 105 fee. I was concerned it might turn out to be a problem, but never said anything about it.

After the EUC cleared, they added state tax to the final bill on my "Paid in Full" invoice.

On other lots I have won at Mead they have included the Md taxes.

This is what I hope will occure with me as well. I just don't want to have any problems with purchases etc. Less headaches I have the better.

Everything I have purchased has had taxes on it. I went in to see what I could do with the titles for the trucks and they were just going to deduct that tax already paid/collected off my tax bill at title time here in Ohio.

Funny Post.

I am in the midst of fighting them to get taxes refunded to me.

I bought a truck in LA & they charged me 9% tax.
Here in TEXAS its 6.25 & is paid when we transfer ownership.

Waiting to here back.

I think that they are going to charge you the taxes in the state in which you purchased the truck it doesn't matter where you live. It has something to do with the way that GL does business. Good luck with the refund! It might be worth it to just let it go and try to buy local when you can..

What pisses me off is its the people at the different locations.

YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY TAXES TWICE.

The people in AZ are clueless. I will not pay taxes twice.

G.L. is pocketing the money.

I am talking about VEHICLES only here.

Taxes are collected when vehicle is transferred PERIOD.

I doubt you'll get anything back because the truck was sold in LA. Texas shouldn't charge you anything extra though.

The issue is they charged me 9%.
Texas is 6.25%.

My point is I have bought trucks out of LA before & not been charged tax.
Its hit or miss, this truck will be titled, hence the second charge of tax.

I wont let it go this time.

Check Texas reciprocity tax laws. You won't get the tax back from GL paid to LA but you maybe able to get out of TX tax. GL isn't required to show proof of tax payment to the end user. And I doubt the states are going to complain about you paying both. Would be interesting to put the bug in LA's tax section to see if GL is even sending them money that they are collecting.

That's true but I had to go to the state level to use the paid invoice as proof of tax payment. The local officials wanted me to prove GL paid the tax...as if that's my job.

In Texas I have not been charged any taxes on GL vehicles or trailers, but evrything else gets taxed for some reason from GL
It just depends on the location & who fills out your invoice.

I had one invoice many trailers & 1 duece, they charged tax on duece but not trailers. They wouldnt refund the tax on the duece (I never transfered it because Texas told me they would have to charge ME sales tax).

They couldnt or wouldnt find where G.L. paid it.

You & I both are charged tax on NON VEHICLES because its STATE sales tax
just like buying anything eles.
