This is no blessing its the right thing to do.

On VEHICLES including trailers THEY SHOULD NOT BE CHARGING TAX.....

TAX ON VEHICLES IS DONE AT STATE LEVEL WHEN YOU TRANSFER SAID VEHICLE INTO YOUR NAME.

According to what the Texas DMV said they will credit you up to the amount you would pay in the state of texas for an auction that was purchased out of state. Any excess taxes will earn you a "credit" in that state of the item's auction for futures taxes, etc, and can not be transferred, refunded, etc to Texas or you.

The money is gone. I've fought this before and contest GL and the chain of DMV. Does Gl keep the excess? Doubt it. Is it annoying and not right? In my opinion most definitely, but that's the way the game is played.

UPDATE 08/04/2011

GL (after further research by there tax specialist) is refunding the tax charged on my truck.

I will post when I receive my refund.

Got an e-mail this morning saying It was "lotted incorrectly" thats why it was taxed.

They did apologize for the inconvenience. IT WAS NOT SINCERE.

Every vehicle I've ever bought through GL in TN, they charged me too much tax. It's just a few dollars but every time the DMV says they charged me too much. The DMV has never offered me a refund and I know better than to ask GL.

If you notice they also charge you sales tax on the buyers premium.

GL does seem to have immunity from some of the state tax laws and title laws. Some of the stuff they do is clearly in violation of most state laws but nobody seems to care.

I did go back thru invoices & found 2 others they taxed me on.
I have turned those in as well.

Received another e-mail this morning stating its (other 2 vehicle sales) have been passed on to there " TAX SPECIALIST" and they will get back to me.


NOTE: They have submitted my refund request & I will be notified when its been GRANTED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND YET.
