PTO seal replacement

My pto was leaking a little at the seals so I pulled the pto and replaced the seals. I took some pics to help others with there seal replacement.
It was not to hard to do, the nuts that hold the pto to the trans can be a pain.
I used a two lip seal for the shift shaft (National #471538.

You do have to use a gasket to set the back lash when you put the pto back on the trans. , but you can not use a Dial Indicator (like the TM says) with the PTO & trans in the truck. So I just used the same thickness gasket as I took off. I did move the gear and checked that it was not to tight.

I noticed I had chipped tooth.:mad:

You're right about the dial indicator. No way to get it between the frame and the PTO.

You may want to try your edit again. I'm still seeing :cool:.
