Does anyone have the documentation for an M920 electronic tachometer and speedometer. It appears the truck originally had mechanical tach and speedo, but got converted to electronic. All the documentation I have been able to find is for the original mechanical (flex cable).

Let me know if there is an M870 trailer available anywhere.

R Racing was able to give me a source for a new Tachograph, and I bought what he said was his last one. Before I got around to installing it, I found a VDO US phone number I found awhile back. I called them, and eventually ended up talking to someone at a company called NSI. The guy was great. They sell new and do service exchange on these things. He was able to walk me through the dip switch settings to find out that the Tach switch settings were wrong, and my tach now seems to be reading correctly. He also told me that if I would drive the truck on a know course of about five miles and tell him how far off the odometer was, he could tell me the switch setting changes I would need to correct the speedometer. Their phone number is 336-273-2881.

Looks like I now have a new tachograph I will need to find a home for.

M920 Electronic tach and speedometer not reading correctly

I took the M920 on a short road trip that the odometer said I went 20.2 miles. I then took the same route in my pickup, and the trip meter said I went 16.2 miles. I gave this info to the guy at NSI and he gave me the dip switch settings to bring it in line.

The thing to note on this, for those of you that have this class of truck and think you are able to go faster than what it should, you might want to check out the tac-o-graph accuracy.

My odometer is off as well, but fixing the tachograph is the last thing on my mind. I did find it funny that the same trip in my M915 and F350 is faster in the M915 despite traveling at 55 vs 70...

The fix is less than five minutes, once you know how far off it is and get the NSI guy to give you the correct dip switch settings.
