Yesterday and Today I've been working. Put one of the deuces on 46's (Breaking down the stock wheels) and replaced the tires on the work deuce with 11.00's we took off the truck we put the 46's on. It's a lot easier to say you're going to do this than to actually do it. rofl

Those tires look GRRRRREAT!!

Not trying to hi-jack the thread but ditto with me (us). Heavysteven came over yesterday and we got started only to find out I had a bearing about to cut loose. We were going to attempt to replace that but we spent the day looking for seals instead. I had ordered some and we went to Clints to get them. Once we got them and got done visitating, the day was shot. Got home to find....the seals I had ordered were delivered. I also couldn't find squat of stuff that I knew I had but couldn't find it---GAA, axle boots, etc. Found them this morning, great timing. Went off in search of bearings at NAPA. The store that was suppose to have them didn't. I asked them to search the greater Atlanta area, they said all stores were out. They lied cause Heavysteven found them in Gwinett but it was too late in the day for me to stop work and o on that run.

So I got started on my hub flips today. I'm putting M35A3 tires on my A2. Nearly 4 hours to do the first one and this is my first time doing it. I replaced seals and packed bearings as I went. Second axle went a lot faster (about 2 hours which included time to clean up and eat and then go back to work).

I didn't even get the lug nuts on the second wheel due to darkness and rain. Whoever said a 3 hr job must have been very experienced. Tomorrow I finish out the second one and hopefully get the other two rears done. I am waiting on the inner bearing for the front and I'll still have to do the boot for that one. I also will knock out the other front tomorrow if possible. We are expecting very heavy rain tomorrow and it's not so much me getting wet but worrying about the tools and parts getting hammered in the downpour.

I also gotta put a starter into a CUCV tomorrow.

I definately want to THANK HeavySteven, Clint, and ClintoGF for helping me out. CHoW also help but that was to keep the kids out of my way and fix the meals....the normal stuff.

We're moving into MV parts as well. I plan on keeping bearings, seals, filters, lights, wiper blades, clutches, and brake parts. We can ship the parts as needed, but I plan on keeping stuff in stock at the warehouse and an assortment here at home as well. All will be at better prices.

I spent a day and 120+ miles buying a wheel cyl. when I was flipping my hubs. Basically if you haven't ordered parts, you're not going to get them on the weekend. I've grown so used to driving down to the auto parts store on the weekend that I can't stand it for my MVs.

Is there any suggestions in parts we should keep on the shelves outside what I mentioned?

Fairly common but air fittings and pipe. Belts and hoses. If you want to invest in it, I'd have a spare alternator, starter, IP, IP Head, head gasket, turbo, injectors, injector lines, radiator, brakes, brake cylinders, master cylinder, booster, and gauges.

i rued the day when we had to change tires on the 5 tons. s.s.'s for a five ton must weigh 500 lbs. each. probably more like 250-300, but theyre still heavy as ****e.

how many did you have working on them? we usually had a full squad, that way when you get worn down, someone else could step in.

I almost got done myself. Dang wheel stud broke and that is the only thing that is keeping me from finishing. I gotta get one and get this thing ready for the trip.

Wheel look great but again it was too dark when I got finished. It's also raining cats and dogs.

Thanks Billy bobbed for the video. It is a lot easier if you put diesel fuel around the bead before knocking the side wall down and after removing the lock ring I set the center on an old brake hub wipe diesel all the way around the bead and a few hits and it falls right off. Easy cheesy. Well not that easy! :beer:

i hear ya. i had alot of "enhancers" trying to figure out/refilling the tranny in my p/u. a half hour job took 2+hrs. i think ill pay someone the next go around
