I want to get the wheels off and rebuild brakes / grease everything before it gets too cold over here. I know the rear duals you can remove together and roll out of the way. On the fronts (11x20 radials) I'm thinking about using this dolly. Do you guys think it'll work ok?

Mechanical Wheel Dolly - 1250 Lb. Capacity

Also, since I've never had my deuce wheels off the ground before I'm gonna ask a stupid question. Where under the axle is the best spot to position the bottle jack?

It's only wide enough for one tire, so not very useful for the deuce rear axles. And, if you are running NDT (NDCC) tires, using it with singles might cause them to tip over, since the tread is not flat. If you have some fabricating skills, you could overcome those opportunities.

I've found an engine hoist works better. Use a short chain on the boom tip. Run a 3/8" bar through the windows in the rims, through the chain between the tires/wheels.. Then boom up, all weight is borne by the hoist and balanced nicely in a single point lift.

Because of the balance, alignment is far easier.

I place my jack under the end of the U-bolt.

I never work with out a jack stand either.

:grd:how about a pallet jack?
Only has height adjustment. The engine hoist allows two axes of angular movement with minimal effort. Sure, you still must align the fore-aft and height, these are quite easy with good wheels on the hoist.

Still, it is best to have a helping hand. We whipped out two complete axle services in a day and a half with one, including all wheel cylinder overhauls, bearing cleaning/packing and seal replacements. Without any muscle strains etc. There were 3-1/2 of us working, most were swilling beer at the same time too.

A wheel dolly is a one-trick pony. An engine hoist has a multitude of uses.

That isn't what you want. It's designed to move around non running vehicles on a hard surface.

You want what I've pictured below.
