Has anyone here in ohio bought a Deuce without a title and had it Registered? If so how big of a headache was it and what process did you go through? Im new to the site and currently looking to buy one but I am finding a lot with good prices but also no title! Its just going to be used as a farm truck and to run to the hardware store once in a blue Moon....

I would call the title agency. you could tell them you are buying a truck from a state that does not title older vehicles like GA i believe and see what they say. Good luck, there are good trucks out there with titles. i drove 300 miles to get mine. PS welcome to the site and check in on the ohio thread.

Thank you :) Quick question about that Did you haul it back or drive it back? I am finding a mix of both but Im trying to keep it halfway local ( you know gas prices ) and 300 miles is about the max range............

The real hard time I'm having at this moment is I found one that $3500 with no title and 300 miles away and one for $4500 with a title and 300 miles and both in about the same condition and having a harder time finding anymore respectable in that area range without spending upwards to ten grand............ so that's where my problems come in but thanks for the info Ill have to call them up

If at all possible, go with a title. You might be able to get a bonded title, never done that. Ohio is a real pain about titles, even from states that don't have them. Have to do everything to the letter, and even then may have to go to multiple BMV's to get someone that can/will do it.

Not sure about ex military trucks, but for cars you just get it inspected at an OHP inspection office to see that it meets minimum equipment rules and you can get a title for them.

Here's a link to an Ohio SS that bought a truck without title. I won't buy a truck private without title unless I know it will be used for parts.

Buying a vehicle without a title is like giving a monkey a hand grenade....you are setting yourself up for a lot of problems....there is a reason why the party is selling it so cheap.

An untitled vehicle is like monogramed luggage....very hard to get rid of.

It is extreemly hard to get a title for a vehicle without one in Ohio. In order to get one registered from out of state, you will need a notarized bill of sale and out of state inspection at the title office. Then, you get to deal with the azzhats at the title office that need a 17digit vin. When you add zeros in front of what the data plate says to get 17 digits, the fat manager walks up and says "no dice", so you get to move on to the next office, till you find someone with half a brain. I told the first place it was an ex army truck and they used a "non-standard" vin. She looked at me like my hair was on fire and I was pointing a bazooka at her. It is not worth the effort, unless you enjoy ulsers, to get a truck wothout a title.
