you can swap it over, you will have to have a hydraulic power source (pto tandem pump high capacity) to make it work, as well as the frame mount.

Will a winch from a m920's swop over and work on a m809's truck? Or are the front frames different?
Are you talking about the REAR winch off a 920 or the front winch off a 900 5t, these are two totally different winches. the 900 5t is the same as the winch on the 809s but hyd. drive, the winch off the 920 is a really big winch.

Like 73m819 said the winches you can swap the mounting plates, angle iron and frame rail extensions do not swap.

I have 900 series frame rail extensions and NDT and I spent some time with 809 series plates and angle iron looking for work around. The mounting plates are not wide enough to drill the top holes wide enough apart, the frame rails would also need 5 holes drilled into the frame or 4 into the extensions.

It should not matter for hydro powered winches, however the alignment for the 809 series to get the PTO shaft to the winch does not look like it has clearance.

I am still looking for the correct frame rails, plates, angle iron, drive shaft and cab linkage.

See my thinking is to put two 905 5t winches on my 818, one in the rear and one in the front son I can have one pump for two winches and just run hoses to everything and not have drive shafts running every which way.
