I turned my ignition on today and nothing happend, nothing at all no dash lights not radio no buzzer no head lights.. nothing. I am SURE the batterys are not dead. I have no idea where to even begin on this one. Is there some sort of ignition relay or fuse i could have blown? Would that cause this? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. The vehicle had worked fine the day before, however the starter wasnt engaging the flywheel so I took it out to jump it (worked fine) then re-installed it (didnt work again) then on the second try to start is again thats when this prob occured.

I recently had the batt. cable that runs from front batt. + to Rr batt. - fail. It would carry voltage and continuity, but not under load.

Start very simple and eliminate the easy things. Assume nothing, verify every thing no matter how minute.

I have had several batteries fail where one minute the start the vehicle and the next start nothing. The internal failure has been so bad the vehicle could not be jumped with the failed battery in place. Load test the batteries as well.

Check where the 8 gauge red wire comes off the battery terminal that sometimes corrodes cutting the 12 volt power to the truck.
Ditto ranchhopper's suggestion, and don't forget the fusible link that connects this wire to the 12v junction block on the firewall.

I had a similar problem, and I found the above fusible link on my truck was internally corroded.

Remove battery connections clean and reattach, especially where the 24v jumper is between the batteries remove all of the bolts clean them polish the wire ends with sandpaper till shiny. check your body ground why you are at it. Chances are it's a dirty connection. Leave the key on and wiggle the connections and when you hear the click you found the problem... mine did this untill I did the above.

Problem solved! Chased all the wires from the battery with a volt meter. The smaller gauge wire coming off the negative terminal of the second battery runs to a post with similar wires running off of it attatched to the firewall on the right handside right next to the glow plug relay. That wire had a fusible link in it that didnt even look bad but was fried, simply replaced it and ive got power again, cost me like $10 in supplies. Thanks all for the help.

That wire feeds all the power to the 12v side of the truck.

You need to keep an eye on it because it burned for some reason.

"wire coming off the negative terminal of the second battery"

Is this unusual? My wire to the 12V bus comes from the positive post, front battery.

The stock battery cables had the 12v feed wire coming off the rear battery negative terminal.

If yours is coming from the front battery postive, at some point in time it was changed. It works fine from either position
