Convert it to a tractor with an condo sleeper
The tractor has the same wheelbase as the dump. That would be 167 inch. The M55A2 has the extra long wheelbase of 242 inch. Gives you a nice roomy condo sleeper of 75 inch, including whirlpool and sauna.

I like it (the tractor idea), would be a nice project for next year (When I am in the USA again).

Does it have the original LDS 465 1 or LDS 465 1A engine? How many hours and miles on it?

I've honestly not dug into it that much. I believe it's all original. I will venture over there and inspect it today to get you the facts if you're interested in saving it.

Feel up to pulling that air cleaner assy off? Wouldn't mind having that to install on my deuce.

Ok, ran out there quick this AM for a few more pics. It is a LDS 465 1A engine. I also pulled the M1009 to the tail end of the back bumper where they were lined up even to give a gauge of how big this thing is.

Why must it go tomorrow? You just bought this truck a couple weeks ago, didn't you?

Did you simply buy it to scrap it?

It's the lesser of two evils. I've found a wrecker that is about to head to the crusher unjustly. All of my MV "toys" are done in cash. So I'm going to have to scrap this one to fund the other one.

Unless someone wants to loan me the money for the wrecker or buy this M55. :D

No thread, the person isn't online anywhere. Actually found out about this because of my M1009 being on craigslist though another person. It's a M543A2.

I had no plan of scrapping this M55A2. Actually I had planned on selling off the mongo bed and putting a standard 5 ton bed on it. Then installing a HIAB or other brand knuckleboom for a cranetruck.

Maybe SS should make an "emergency fund" or pawn shop for this kind of situations. (please don't react on this , I know it's another pipedream). How rare are those M55A2s actually?

Too bad we cant do a lottery. Sell 30 $100 tickets at the rally. Winner wins a truck for a C note.

H*** I'd join in on that! Please don't scrap it this soon! The crane plan is exactly what I would do with that. Handier than a wrecker in some ways...2centsfat lady sings
