Curious.

How much would it cost to ship engine, trans, and/or transfer case to 01550? And how much would you want for that pile of parts?

My 5 ton could use a spare motor and trans, and I'd like to pull apart a transfer case and see if I can't design an airshift mod for it, then swap out and keep the stock one as a spare.

If it's in a range I can afford I can wire you the money by tomorrow morning.

If ya'll are serious about that, I'm game. I'd donate $500 of the proceeds of that to the wounded warrior project.

That's a brilliant idea and easy to set up. Count me in for a few tickets immidiately, maybe I'll get lucky (or at least we'll help save this truck from scrap).

I like that idea a lot better then just SCRAPPING HER, shes in the rare category, and the wounded warrior project is a great way to help our boys that are in need. Just my 2cents

Looks like it's getting a stay of execution for now. But most likely, I'm going to have to part it out to recoup my costs. Unless someone wants to make a cash offer for it right now.

I thought you had an auction going in the classifieds? Are you going to cancel that?

This thread sounds alot like a sales pitch. :deadhorse:

Seems this is a new one for SS. What if a member wants to set up a raffle for his/her truck. Does that count as a sale, is that against rules?

To me, it did not sound like a sales pitch, that is, trying to get beyond a fair price for an item.

If scrap price is 3K and he is willing to make a raffle of it with 30 tickets for $100, and donates $500 to a good cause, his max income is $2,500. That is an actuall loss compared with the minimum he can get today. As long as the number of tickets multiplied by the price per ticket is below scrap price, hard to see how it can be a sales pitch (or at least not an effective one :soapbox:

I do agree it opens up a can or two for SS if this would go through.

I am signing off now, heading to bed (We are about 7 hours in front of most of you).

It's not a new issue. We have said SS is not going to do raffles. The rally really has nothing to do with the site(the GA rally is really a Clinto gathering). People can do whatever they want on private property and at private function

I went ahead and pulled the auction. Doesn't look like it'll sell whole, but I posted it back in the classifieds. Or I'll start parting it out at this point I guess. Didn't mean for it to sound like a sales pitch.

Sorry, sold it a year or so ago. A shame too now that the MK48's are out and about now. That MK17 was mint from a rebuild and never used.

So what ended up happening with this truck? Sorry to bump an old thread but I was curious. I just bought my first MV (an M-55) so this thread intrigued me when it ended up in my search.

It was sold to another member, who sold it to another member. Last I heard it was running. But it was going to be used for hauling and a rough life.

Well that's good. That's what they're made for. I can't believe how many get scrapped without even 25 or 30,000 on them. What a waste. Same goes for Gama Goats and Humvees that get scrapped so early.
