I found these 16.00 x 20s on ebay and it is less than 250miles from me.
$55 for 25% tread. IN the last picture below.

Doesn't seem like to bad of a price. I was looking to put them on my 62 M-61. I recently picked up 4 combat wheels from the GL with 14.00s on them but 2 of them are shot. I am on a limited budget and also planning on swapping in a 6.9 IDI from a IH bus that has a turbo on it and already setup with the SAE2 bellhousing but also has a Spicer 4054D tranny with 112k for $600. So I dont want to get to outrageous on buying the 14.00s and shipping to here in Montana is killer.

My question is would these work with the combat wheels I have? Would I have to use the tubes? If so where could I find them? The tire shops up here don't even know where to find a 14.00 or 16.00 tires.

I doubt these tires would fit on my stock 5 ton rims? Or would they just blow off the bead. I dont use the truck often, mostly lately it has just been to pull my 25' GN out of the woods loaded with 18 - 20k lbs of firewood cause my F250 cant handle the mountain grade. It would see some snow since it does have a plow attached to it. It may see some soft ground depending on the logging road conditions.

I would like the 14.00 or bigger due to you can see in the 3rd picture that the back push bar mounting on my plow mount is VERY close to the ground with the 11.00s so the more clearance the better.

What sort of "combat wheels" do you have? If they are HEMTT wheels, then no you do not have to use tubes.

Those will not fit on your stock wheels. You will lose some serious power with those big tires

I dont know what they are off of. They are the ones in the first pic. Have tubeless 14.00s on them right now.
I know I will lose some power. but the 4054D tranny that I am swapping in with the IDI is ratioed 1st: 7.22 2nd:3.88 3rd:2.21 4th:1.42 5th: 1.0

I think it will be alot better than the spicer 3053 with the .85 5th.

Also the turbo IDI is putting out a good bit of HP (my 6.9 with aurora 3000 turbo dynoed 215hp @ 3300rpms and 427ft/lbs @ 1600rpms)

Like i said its mostly just going to be used to pull people out if needed. push some snow. and tow my gooseneck with loads posted below. The clearance with the plow pusher bar is the main concern.

28 ply rating? sounds like a loader tire or something. I would not think (even with the plow) you would have enough weight to make those flex or conform for traction.

I have a post for my snow plow install. I picked up the whole mounting system and 10' blade for $250. There are some pics of my mounting bracket on the post. I think its labeled as snow plow setup.

I also am making a weight setup for the rear of the truck that will bolt down on the bolting tabs on the framebed. I am looking at making a open top box made out of 3/8" steel with 1 - 2ft sides. then Fill it with concrete and let it harden and let some u bolts get hardened in with the cement for lifting points and all thread bolts through holes on the bottom that will allow me to bolt it to the frame. I am hoping it will be atleast 2 tons of weight over the rear.

Put a couple pieces of rebar in it also . Concrete weighs approx. 4000# to a cubic yard .

For your weight, why not go with an ecology block or two? Most concrete batch plants have a form that they put wasted concrete in and it will have a pick point already installed. They usually weigh 2 to 3 thousand pounds depending on the form. Put a couple of strategically placed angle irons to hold them in place and there you go. And they are usually fairly cheap, probably in the 35 to 50 dollar range.

Am I going to have to use flaps for the 16.00s ? I broke down my 14.00s off my wheels today and they had a stiff thick flap inside but they had quite a few cracks in them and what not and the valve stem hole was severely wollared out on 2 of them.
