Short Recovery, Deuce in the driveway!

Well, the Deuce is in the driveway after a short 70 mile recovery. I must admit given this came from fellow SS member MassM35A2, was regularly driven and maintained with loving care, the use of the word 'recovery' seems somewhat unfair given the lengths others have to get their purchases home.
I must admit I did load up the Hummer with tools and fluids in the event a snafu occurred on the drive home.
Mass was not home but his Dad helped me by going to the local truck shop to get a sticker. The kid at the inspection station was somewhat familiar with the Deuce as he said a few local fire trucks were based on the same platform.
So with that out the way, dropped Mass's Dad of back home and we were off, my buddy driving the Hummer 'support vehicle', Rte 140, Rte 24 and the I-95 back to Wilmington, MA. I have to say I was somewhat surprised at other motorists reactions, honks and waves from many along the route. The only downside was that no one seemed to take any notice of my turn signals (yes it was in service drive), lane changes on I-95 were rather traumatic to say the least.
I live in a cul-de-sac of 13 houses with my house being at the end, the Hummer driver was one of my neighbors and was just so happy to be driving it, he was definitely smiling all the way home. My 14 year old son who is just crazy about anything military, I had not told that I had bought the truck and as I pulled up to the house I have to say you would think it was Christmas Day, that smile on his face was just unforgettable.
The first task at hand will be to perform a full service, truck has spin-on filters for all but the primary fuel filter. There is also a rear axle seal leak that I need to take a look at. The front axle has XL's and the remaining 8 are in the truck bed so I will have to get those mounted in short order.
Whist I have few posts I have read hundreds in support of my MV quest, salutes to all at SS, I hope I can in due course help others as you guys have helped me.
Martin.

Yes, it is the truck with the 5 ton winch.

A couple of pics before the camera died!

Not sure if I am going to keep the winch on as it does really stick out in front, maybe trade it for the correct winch.

Artic flame heater, spin ons, and cargo cover is a plus. Oh and hard top:eek:
All in all it was a great deal, has a brand new softtop sitting in the bed along with the 11.00 X 20 XL's for all the rears (fronts already mounted.)

Has air-o-matic installed as well which is a great bonus.

I am used to leaking seals, seems the Hummer has either an input or output hub seal leaking at any moment in time.

Nice truck!! I would be interested in the winch, if shipping wouldn't kill me across the country.
