im literally in the beginning of installing this thing! 4hrs my a$$ lol
ive fought this thing every step of the way!

couple questions..
1st how the **** do you get the end screws on the drag link ??? the thick rubber grommet things stick out about 1/4 inch and i cannot push them in to even get the screw started (on each end)

2nd..
the instructions say something about loosening the tie rod clamp and rotatiing it then tightening it to 60ft lbs.. i cannot seem to get it to rotate..

please im running out of day light and weather get rainy soon..
thanks!!

The rubber gromets on the drag link are not used for the air o steering. I will pm you my email so you can email me back and I'll send you the directions if you don't have them. Two people greatly help the install. It took me about 5 hours. You don't really need to loosen the tie rod. Just make sure that its in between the rotation freeplay available when you tighten the bolts on it for the ram.

serious??
wonder why they were in there....? they are soo thick and heavy duty.. figured it had something to do with greasing/ lubrication .. so yer saying they are just "place holders to keep everything together untill the ball joint goes in.
if it installs like the old one with no rubber parts then i can do that easy...

thanks for clearing up the tie rod bar! i know what you are saying.."_)

Oh, grease the heck out of the drag link when your reassembling. Also, put some air tool oil in the ram and drag link openings to get some lubricaiton in there before you close everything up.

Good luck !

Air tool oil only. You don't know what impact some other lubricant might have on the seals and other air systems on the truck. Your local farm supply or even sears probably has some.

You can also add a squirt to your brake pack when your under there as well !

RRRRR thank you so much for your help!! and the instructions you sent me! I just completed the install a couple days ago, I thought i really f'ed up when I fired it up and tried to test it when i could not turn the wheel AT ALL!!! I could hear the air goin out when i turned the wheels and got slight movement in the OPPOSITE direction!! WTF???

after slow exprimenting, i thought i would reverse the lined on the drag link, THAT WORKED!!!
i LOVE this thing even more its soo nice driving arround the city now!!

but I have to beware that while i was off roading, and you have to use allot of steering to keep from getting stuck you go through your air FAST!! heh I had it buzzing in about 1 min of continous hard use (testing)

speaking of that DO you know how to adjust the black regulator?
what direction is the arrow subposed to be pointed?
when you unscrew the lower metal part the plastic know has a adhusting screw says "increase" but what is it increasing??

i could not find info on regulator adjustment.
thanks again for all your help fat lady sings

I left the regulator off on mine because it seems that many others have had failures. I believe if you screw in the adjustment you get more air.

The air o uses a lot of air when you are doing a lot of turning. I've considered adding another air tank but since I don't take mine off road or tow a trailer (backing with a trailer can use a lot of air also ) I don't need it.

Glad you are happy and I could help !

Enjoy, it makes the deuce a lot more enjoyable to drive !

Arrow points in direction of airflow through the reg and toward the drag link inlet.

Search the site and you'll see the post I made showing how to add a tire valve to the little plugged port on the top front of the reg so you can set the pressure correctly to 40psi. Most guys with A3s use marvel mystery oil to lube the air lines. Most guys I know use it in their airtools too!

This sure sounds like a duplicate thread to another identical one that popped up today :-|
