Yes, I have used them for years. I had one at work when I was active duty for a few years. I have mine and absolutely love it! Some people don't get it and it doesn't have all the "comfort features" as we are now used to (as a society). I am excited to put a radio in it during the next few months, LOL! You learn that the little things make the difference and when you do your own work, you are proud of what you have done.

Last month this became my daily driver. I am in the process of selling my nice Dodge Ram 3500 because the payments are KILLING me. Next week it should be wrapped up and that will be a HUGE bill gone. I am just so pleased with my '09! I know her name is PITA (and she sure can be when she wants to) but she is serving me well and will be until the sad day I will have to sweep her up and throw her away.

Anyway- I hope this doesn't sound stupid, I just love feeling like I am still wearing the uniform and bringing back memories with each trip I make in it.

I love mine too. I however am in the surplus business and eveything is allways for sale. My current favorite 09 is still being worked on and is not for sale yet. After the last two I thought I was going to keep sold, I will price this one too high and hopfully keep it. My wife said I was not right for a week after I sold the last one.:-?

Quite pleased with mine too. I drove one at FT Lewis, and for 6 months drove one in Honduras, all back in '88-90. I loved the feel, how it was plain yet "comfy" as far as MV's go. I traded a car for the one I have now, and had a lot of money in the car. I tried to sell it, but not many people have hotrod money nowadays, so when offered a CUCV for it, I agreed to check it out and the rest is history. Not saying I'll never get rid of my truck, but MAN! I'm enjoying working on the little bugs it has, doing little body repairs, and most of all driving it! Not many MV's around here at all (retired ones), so mine is an attention getter anywhere I go!

Just got my first '09 home yesterday!! And today I got a complete rolling chassis from an '08 for the HD axles and spare drive line parts. I'm looking ahead to keeping it alive for as long as I can! I'll post some pics after I download them from my camera. Look for a post with "Movie Star" in the title.

Couldn't agree with you more. I was actually advised against the purchase from a friend who had worked on them and bought it anyway. Everything has worked great on mine except for a tire blowout last weekend. (more on that later) It's just plain fun to drive as long as you're not going uphill! :p

I love mine too but it has way too many creature comforts(heat, automatic transmission, roof) so I am letting it go to make room in my drive way for a deuce and then work my way up (in cost not size) to an M38 or M38a1. At that point I will probably start to miss my little '09 and buy another. That is how it always seems to go

Hi guys,
I know what you mean. Mine is big, ugly and a PITA sometimes.
But I love it anyway, and I too will keep it until futher notice,
or at least until I get another one.

Good night,

CJ
