It's time to put my Deuce away for the winter. I've got a 200+ mile trip to bring it to one of my shops where it will sit out the winter in an insulated and heated space.

I figure that I'll flat-tow my Jeep behind it so that I have a ride home.

I've got the Deuce full of shop equipment I am relocating from here to there.

Any tips, cautions or experiences to share? This will be my first time towing with the Deuce since I got it.

Not sure if this is an intelligent comment or not, but make sure the jeeps steering isn't locked or can fall into a lock after you start moving. I tow a Samurai behind farm equipment for return transportation. I finally disabled the steering lock so I wouldnt have to leave the key on to tow it.

I think its a very intelligent comment that a lot of people dont think about

It's not a bad suggestion at all. I'll leave it unlocked with the key in. Also, transfer case in neurtal and transmission in gear. I also have lights hooked up. Fairly good tow bar and a mutha of a safety chain.

Read up and make sure your jeep flat-tows well.
It's supposed to, although this will be the first time I flat tow it. I have to watch out to avoid sharp turns (LOL, sharp turns with a Deuce) so that the corner of the truck does not wipe out the Jeep fender.

Fueled it up tonight, got my checklist. Tomorrow final packing, a few chores and I'm off.

Mission successfully completed and with no drama at all. I had a good 4000 lbs in the bed and was flat-towing my Jeep. I could feel the extra weight up high but that was it. I needed a little more accelerator pedal, is all. I still was able to run 55 on the flats with the hand throttle set. Downhill I saw 58-59 and up hills 50. But the most important thing was the dead dependability. The truck just did what it needed to do with no drama. Frankly, I was expecting something. Man oh man, the US can build itself some good trucks.
