Update!!
Took a few pictures this evening while converting the replacment cab from the early style Ross power steering to the late style.
The steering column must have a lower support with the later style because of the lack of a solid base like the early.
It also is a good idea to seal this aera up with a rubber gasket,it works lots better than the paper that was used from the factory,you can make your own gasket as I did with a piece of an old inner tube. Definetly helps seal out the drafts!!

More work today,i got the left and right fenders replaced with the ones off the donor truck.
Quick note: If you are replacing the drivers side fender on a M39 series truck or if you are converting it to the later style power steering,you must cut a 4 in by 12 in long section out of the inner fender to clearance the PS box itself.
BTW,5 ton fenders are heavy,but you can change them by yourself.
Pics to come tomorrow,couldn't take any tonight,it got dark before I got finished.

Your right about the fenders. I was changing the passengers fender on my M818 and dropped the support bracket on my head! OUCH!!

Somehow looking at your wrecker with a full cab reminded of pulling the 10 tons and that hydraulic hose broke. At least now you won't take an oil bath.
