Hello crew
I am doing a 6.2L diesel swap.
I bought a j-spec 6.2L from 1990 . of course there are no accessories on the engine.
So now I face the question. should I use the v belt or convert to serpentine belt...
can I use parts of a chevy v8 gaser and buy a new waterpump? or is there more involved.
I bought already new g60 glowplugs ( I still have the HMMWV glow plugs and they look pretty good, if anyone wants them). I need to fab up some motor mounts. now my q is... can I use chevy mounts of a truck or suburban or are they diesel specific?
This is new territory for me , but I can learn :)

I like that part , too...
apart from the waterpump pulley and the crank pulley the engine is bare. so i will need to find
all the brackets and such...any hints on where or who to ask?
BTW I dig the rig in your avatar :) looks awesome

Why pick such a lame-duck-diesel engine for such an awesome vehicle?
say what you want but my 6.2 does just fine in this 8000lbs of truck. yes that is a turbo

-Parts are available anywhere.
-changes gas mileage from 13mpg without any
performance to 24mpg with some performance.
-easy to work on.
-with sidewinder turbo even some more performance
-can run all sorts of fuels
with a 6 speed t56 it can get almost 30mpg
awesome. Was just curious. Lots of options of "better" diesels out there, but I'm sure this one, especially linked with your modifications, will be a great motor! :grd:
