    Shelter carrier hardware

If anyone is interested, I have a set of the M1028 shelter carrier brackets/hardware I removed from a project truck (tailgate reinforcement brackets/outriggers/tie-downs, and front bed C-channel/outrigger/tie-downs), as shown in the photos that 2deuce posted. I'll be listing them on FB...

    Brake backing plate for M1008?

They're good people to deal with. Spendy, at times, but great customer service. I've ordered from them several times.

Is the fluidampr balancer worth the $?

I just had a local mechanic install a new Fluidampr, along with front crank seal and NOS water pump/crank pulleys on my M1008. Like you, my balancer/crank pulley had a wobble. Hopefully it was worth the $$$, and also helps correct some of the belt issues I was having (early indications look good).

Welding safely on a 24V CUCV

Why risk leaving anything hooked up. Completely remove the battery cables (all of them). It take a hot second, and is definitely the safe route. I have never welded on vehicles with the battery connected, and I certainly won't start now. :)
