    2009 Memorial Day

Clinto- Yes, this is the same one. I still have a bunch of stuff to do including finding some bumper parts and a MU-2 winch to replace the CCKW winch that's on it now. I'm resisting the urge to pay way too much from our friends in Iowa. I'll have it in a July 4th parade and a couple of car...

    2009 Memorial Day

Finally got most of the details worked out, put in some fuel, and set out for Middletown Springs VT. A 20 mile round trip seems like a day in the saddle with this rig. The jeep belongs to the state VFW Commander. Also, a shot of a couple of friends checking for safety equipment.... Got to get...

    WC57 in August 2008

Guys- I knew that the unusual winch would start a conversation, and I'm sorry I didn't chime in with an explanation before this but I've been away for a few days. The winch is obviously not original, and the frame extensions for the normal one wouldn't fit this size. It is from a larger truck...

    WC57 in August 2008

Thought it about time to show some progress on the old gal. Still a lot of stuff to do but having the major stuff done makes the rest a lot more fun.

    Upstate NY salvage operation

Tom- It seems that every decision is made on a whim, one day he collects it and won't sell, the next day he willingly sells it despite telling everyone he needs it for a future project. Hard to make sense of it, maybe he doesn't even know.... Neil

    Upstate NY salvage operation

If you have a high tolerance for crotchety old men, an operation worth looking at is "George Moore truck salvage" in Keeseville NY at 1823 Rte 9 near Lake Champlain. Lots of large military stuff, less and less old vehicles. Not an easy place to find or to deal with but has some merit... Neil

    Latest WC-57 progress shot

The operation is called George Moore truck salvage in Keeseville NY near Lake Champlain. I'll put the details in the salvage page.... Neil

    Latest WC-57 progress shot

Got to somehow get some activity going on the Dodge subpage... Just came back from a visit to an old truck graveyard, in the past few months it seems that two 100 foot rows of old vehicles have disappeared into the crusher. Snagged a few items but most stuff is going fast. This shot doesn't...

    WC57 Command Car project.

The fronts are the main gear on a DC-3, the rears are from an Allis CHalmers tractor from the 40's. All are removed and the sheet metal restored to original. Found a new set of NDT's and put on the correct combat rims. Will post a progress shot in a couple days.

    What model winch

I have a Garwood winch model 2U512 which has a 14" dia spool, 12" wide. This may have come from a CCKW, it's a very heavy machine. It's now mounted on my WC57 but it's really too large for the vehicle. I'd love to trade it for a Braden MU2 but will probably sell it when I find a replacement...

    WC57 Command Car project.

Thought I'd make my first post a shot of the new project. When I try to add an attachment I lose the post completely. If this works I'll add more info and ask some questions. Looks like plenty of help on this board. Neil
