    VIC-3 compatibility with RT-524 radio

    The short answer is no. But I'm not a professional com guy. Having both systems, I know the VIC-1 is compatible to the SINGARS with an adapter, but I am fairly certain the VIC-3 is not backwards compatible to the RT524.

    It has the bottom shelf on the rack but yes, it's a specific mounting panel for the VIC-1.

    Here's a pic of my working radio set up. I have it setup a bit different for my iPod. I receive the music over the air on 49.9 mhz on my r-442 radio while still being able to communicate on my rt-524.
