    M923a2 off-road truck camper options

You also burn up a lot of fuel going fast esp with a tall box on the back. I have no issues running 60ish MPH on a lightly loaded truck and good tires, there are easy mods to do for the truck to keep fueling up to 65MPH. 60 keeps you close to the flow of traffic to be safe and doesn't add that...

    Flat tow transmission damage

I did a quick search but didn't come up with much, but yea So when I recovered a 936A1 this weekend I was rushed off the lot, so didn't pull the driveshafts. It felt like it went into N on the Tcase but my dumbass didn't go under to turn the drive shaft to make sure. I think it was sitting right...

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

well I have the rental all loaded up with every tool that I think I could need. I have the 939 tow bar, safety chains, and lots of airlines. I have flat towed my one 923 with my other 923 before so I know what to expect. I was only planning on pulling the axles to try and save a little fuel, we...

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

No worries TruAg, yea it will be. Both trucks were "start and operate" per Gov Liq.... so yea I'm bringing about 300 lbs of tools plus all the tow bar stuff. Probably going to have 700 lbs of gear in the rental on the way out there lol. I also have several ditch spots on the way home just in...

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

You are right, I don't have a lot of time running a wrecker, my other driver fell out so now I'm just trying to get the thing home and it needs to come off the lot. I learned my lesson at a very young age with a shortbed pickup about lifting the front end and balancing a load is something I have...

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

looking at my 923a2 sitting here there looks to be 6 bolts holding each bummperets that I can get to with a impact. I was going to pull the axles to try and save on the mpg of not turning the chunk. Standard recovery, I'm planning on bringing lots of tools lol. If it is backwards doesn't the...

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

Ok I didn't think of towing it backwards, but I guess the weight would be balanced out on the 931 anyways. I don't think I could pull a front axle quickly so Ill make sure to check the front diff fluid before towing. How much will the wheel want to turn towing like that? will a simple tie down...

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

What is the preferred tow method, flat tow or lifted tow? I'm recovering a 931a2 with a 936a2 for a few hundred miles. I'm planning on pulling the rear axles out of the tube and install hubcaps on the 931, and have a light setup for it with lots of reflective tape on it as well.

Pickup of drained 925 Ft Riley KS

Thanks guys, I was planning on paying scrap prices for them and hoping I could pull a winch set off one of them and use them as part trucks. They looked rough and I was planning on coming down with a flatbed for the long haul.

Pickup of drained 925 Ft Riley KS

I'm looking at buying a drained 925 at Ft Riley KS this week but it might be a few weeks before I make it down there to tow it home, is there anyone down that way that could tow it off the lot and store it 2-4 weeks for me for a reasonable price? You would have to pull the axles so it doesn't...

    New from ND

Did some more tinkering today. took off the factory exhaust and put on a 4 inch straight muffler I had off one of the Dmax's. I cut the coupler off the top 90* pipe and it fit right into the muffler. I hated how the exhaust was at an angle, I want to make a step to get up into the bed so I...

    New from ND

first couple of mods done; turned up the fuel pump (still playing with it to get it how I want) putting in EGT and boost gages and threw on a random cold air filter I had. Also pulled the gear set out of the 800 series donor axle to replace the front chunk out of the front end. I wanted to do...
