    What does your title/registration say?

I'm currently researching it, but it appears that NJ may have implemented a rule change banning "vehicles designed for military use" from operating off-pavement on state lands, which includes state forests, game lands, and beaches. Just curious-does your title/registration say "Dodge Power...

NJ seeks to ban MV's in state forests

Sorry to bump an extremely old thread, but I can't seem to get a clear answer on whether or not this rule change was ever implemented. If it has it could put a serious damper on my plans to build an M37 since I would not be able to operate it on State Forest, Park (specifically Island Beach) or...

    Dreaming up an M37 build...

Here's a crude mockup I was able to make using a scale drawing of an M37 in Google Sketchup: I came up with a wheelbase of 125" which should be darn close considering Porkchop stated that his friend's LWB truck had about 14" more between the wheelwells, and stock wheelbase is 112". I found...

    Dreaming up an M37 build...

Thanks for posting those pics! That's exactly what I'm looking to do-so as I suspected it would require moving the the axle back/lengthening the frame, which would also make room for a second NP205 or a doubler box of some kind. Any idea what size tires are on that truck in the pictures...

    Dreaming up an M37 build...

I've thought about building an M37 for a while. I've always wanted a bobbed deuce, but at 8' wide they're not always the best for the trails or any tight spot on or off road for that matter. However, when you think about, the M37 is almost like a little brother to the M35-when the M35 is...

    48V electrical systems?

Aha...got it. That could work, provided I could keep the RPM smooth enough. Is this true of all Dodge D-Series truck alternators? Sorry for the violation!

    48V electrical systems?

Has anyone ever seen an M880/M890 with a 48V electrical system? This guy is selling an alternator on Ebay that he claims is 48V and fits Dodge D-Series trucks from '72-'80: 72-80 OEM Mopar Dodge D Series Pickup Truck Alternator 3755791-4 05305 48V 100A Just looking up information about the...

    New guy with MEP-002A questions

Quieter is less of a factor than longevity for me. I plan to house it in a small shed with adequate air circulation-come to think of it, I wonder if it would be a good idea to hardwire in a fan like this one:

    New guy with MEP-002A questions

LOL...no worries-I'm learning a lot. What I'm really learning is that I REALLY want one of these. It sounds like it will be matched perfectly for what I need. The only thing I won't be able to do is run the rest of the house when heating the DHW tank, but it's an 80 gallon and well insulated...

    New guy with MEP-002A questions

I believe they are 4500W-that's great to know. During past power outages the cold showers got old pretty quick! Thanks! I see you're in Sussex-my in-laws live up that way (Hampton)-I keep telling myself I need to get to the show in Augusta every spring. I'm determined that this will be the...

    New guy with MEP-002A questions

I have a friend who purchased a bunch of generators at an auction down in Maryland recently. He doesn't really know much about them-he owns an excavating company and buys and sells a lot of equipment-he has bought and resold a couple of deuces, but these are the first generators he's bought...

    Long term WVO users?

That makes sense-there was a good discussion going about the swirl effect and what makes a multifuel a multifuel. However, I was doing some searching and found this which concerns me: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?71978-Injector-tip-coking/page4 The OP ended up getting new...

5 Ton owners in NJ? Conflicting information from DMV on need for CDL

I was under the impression that it would be a lot more expensive than it is for some reason, but the cost doesn't seem to be that onerous, so what the heck, why not?

5 Ton owners in NJ? Conflicting information from DMV on need for CDL

Thanks! At least I know it's not just me who thinks the laws are screwy. :o So to clarify you own two 5 Tons and do not have a CDL? Registration might be a little easier for me because I plan to register in Maine-another member here was kind enough to let me know that if I own property there...

5 Ton owners in NJ? Conflicting information from DMV on need for CDL

If that is indeed the statute then I'd probably want the Class B CDL anyway as I want to use the truck to haul materials to a remote cabin in Maine.
