My ;turn for a weird noise

Truly fixed the GP relay chattering. The root of the problem was the new GP card I put into the truck the same day I put in the ST85 relay. I bought one of the GP cards from CUCV Electric made the mistake of doing too many things at once. Today I put the old GP card back in... no...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced the oil pressure sensor and pulled the new GP card and re-installed the card that came with the truck...fixed all my problems. Lesson Learned: if it isn't broken yet, don't fix it.

My ;turn for a weird noise

Finally figured it out. The offending part is my glow plug relay. I had replaced the stock (black plastic) relay with a Napa ST85, but then started having all kinds of electrical problems. Once I put the old relay back in, the those problems went away, but the relay started chattering. I...

My ;turn for a weird noise

No fix as of yet. The buzzing is getting longer and longer, so I am half anticipating a final buzz then everything dying. I know the buzz is coming from inside the truck on the drivers side, and its nothing near the starter relay. The sound is coming from somewhere to the left of the...

My ;turn for a weird noise

Hi all, I did some "preventative" maintenance to my 1009 that now causes a loud buzzing/clicking noise from under the dash. I installed a new GP controller card, the doghead starter relay and put in AC60 GPs in my truck. Since that time, when I start the truck, the voltmeter stays in the...

    Batteries arcing

Both batteries unhooked. That's what was so stranger... are there any capacitors in the CUCV system?? Does the new starter relay store power?

    Batteries arcing

Sorry for the confusion with my first post.. it was a Napa ST85 relay. I checked every cable I could see or feel and they all seemed fine. Triple checked that I had the battery cables on correctly..been there done that too. Got the wiring diagram out and checked. I figured that I would have...

    Batteries arcing

Looking for some help here. I installed the doghead starter relay mod, replaced my GP controller card and installed a Napa ST65 GP relay. Somewhere along the line I got some smoke coming from somewhere in the cab. I've looked and looked and can't find any burned spots or burned wires. Since...

Anyone install A/C like this yet?

I installed the Nostalgic Air a/c kit and it works pretty well. NA doesn't sell the CUCV kit anymore due to having problems getting the evaporator for the truck. That model just bolts under the dash rather than the one they sent me, which has a/c, heat & defrost. To install it, I had to...

    Brake Proportioning Valve

Speaking of the front valve...my is leaking quite a bit. I've checked all of the connections and they are tight. Anyone have any ideas why it would be leaking or a source to get a new one? Thanks

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I installed the doghead starter relay, replaced my old black GP relay with a Napa ST85, installed the wiring for my TinyTac tacometer. Working on replacing the glow plugs.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I found that due to the water flow through the heating hoses into the heater core, I had to put shutoff valves in both hoses between the radiator and evaporator. Once I did that and stopped the flow of hot water into the evaporator, it blew some darn cold air. We measured 42F air coming out of...
