    MEP- 803A All Weather Enclosure

Built a basic shelter with square tubing. Back is open so I can slide it over the 803. Front panel removable for easy access. Doors at each end when running. Metal roof, old deck board for siding.

MEP 802A - Roof structure with a baffle...anyone done this already?

The thread on the muffler is 1 1/4 npt if you need to add a fitting. 1 5/8 ID muffler pipe fits snugly over the thread

    803a not warming up

As LITD outlined it preheat the coolant. Basically, I have been able to start the 803 without glowplug preheat. to ~ -5°F so far. Wired independently from all other functions and bring the block temp to ~ +150°F on startup.

    Mep803A Auxiliary fuel tank

A few additional details in case it's of help/interest. The 803 batteries are set up inside the shop, so to power the aux tank fuel pump I wired an external plug ( to one battery for 12v), using an extension I can connect to the outlet on the pump box. ( common plug , so extension can easily...

MEP803A, governor slow to react to load

Another thing I noticed is that before today's fix , in order to get the hz to spec I had to backup one of the governor screw so that I could turn the RPM knob. - pic 1, - after adjusting the IP, the freeplay between governor lever stop and screw is equivalent to the amount I had unscrewed...

MEP803A, governor slow to react to load

Guyfang, please see pic attached. -No load 61hz set runs at 1815 rpm - fuel shutoff, engaged /disengaged - rpm/hz lever ( at this setting , maintains hz from 59.5 to 61 between no load and full load) - IP position ( installed with shut off lever in off position and rotated counter clockwise...

MEP803A, governor slow to react to load

Thanks guyfang. I knew I had to slow down last night, so I put the tool down and started typing instead :). I did not touch the droop adjustment myself but I can tell that the plug had been removed a few time ( paint gone and took mark) . Was very careful to follow the iP reinstall and...

MEP803A, governor slow to react to load

changed all filters, rubber lines. Set not smoking at any load when running and not smoking when bogging down. Will take the hard line out. Agree it has to be lack of fuel or air. Was hoping it was something you guys may have dealt with before.
