That piece might have come off from the selenoide actuator or rod (not sure of the name of the part now) and is known for getting the pump stuck in the open position and causing some run away engines. If i find the diagram with the part, i will post it.
The original to the engine lasted with me around 20k miles plus whatever before wa on it.
The 2nd one lasted a couple of months. The second one was the dame brand (i forgot yhe brand) and the cross reference showed it eas for a cummins something. Exact same piece.

I did a couple of things today. I replaced the starter as the selenoid got stuck in, engaging the whole time. Replaced the damaged start box with a Camotek System (thanks Camo) and did an alignment as my steering wheel was tilted to one side (not centered) also some sound inaulation.
At this point, and all ypu have explained i would pull the turbo out to carefully inspect. Good time to replace the 8 gasket and the bridge gaskets as well. My opinion.
Hey there. Did you check your park switch (it is a 4 speed i guess) are you getting power to the starter selenoid? Probably your smart box went kaboom and is not allowing the power to ho through. Try also jumping out on the diagnostic port and see if it starts.

Started removing all the wiring and accesories from the 1114 donor to transfer to the 1151 including the engine. It has been sitting long.wnough, today decided i had to get going on thos project. Chicken are also helping.
Yes, i got that one from another truck just to test and be able to drive around with no disastrous damages. I might end up with a camo one or will build one myself.
Replaced the fuel filter and the truck flies now. Was losing a little power, didn't realized i hadn't replaced it for 23k miles. Runs like a new truck.
