I used 1/4" screen purchased at Home Depot. Cut slightly oversized then zip tied over the openings. Work great for keeping mice out. No restrictions on cooling. Gary

OK.....I did as you directed and with the engine running and holding in "start" mode my multimeter shows upper 70's ac voltage when connected to the quad winding. I am a little surprised my meter wouldn't read the quad winding. So......at this point I'm pretty well convinced it is as you said...
