Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

Just thought I'd give an update about the batteries. So far they're doing very well. It's not unusual for the truck to sit for two weeks or more without being started, but so far I've had no starting issues at all. I hopped in it yesterday after it had sat for two weeks and the batteries spun...

NP208 front output shaft seal-Can't seem to find one & I'm stumped

Timken 3946 Application is listed for a 1986 Chevy K20 NP208 front output seal. Putting it in tomorrow. If I don't update this post to the contrary, this should be the one needed. Once again, thanks for the help!

NP208 front output shaft seal-Can't seem to find one & I'm stumped

I've been dealing with a leaky NP208 front output shaft seal on my 1008 for a little while now and decided to go ahead and fix it. Very easy job to tackle but not so easy to find the part, it seems. All of the parts houses around my area either say it's not available, or only lists the NP205...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

Yeah I saw the Exides too. As a matter of fact I have a Tractor Supply 5 minutes from my house, but funds are tight right now with all of the other repair jobs I've been doing to our cars, so after searching Google and finding no bad reviews about the battery quality (referring to the "refurbs")...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

$36.95/each plus $22 core. I asked about them being called "refurbished". They basically said they're used batteries that they check out, do whatever needs to be done to them and they slap their seal of approval on. I was a little disappointed by that, but they do have a 90 day warranty and if I...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

Bought a pair of "refurbished" group 31's at my local Interstate Battery store and installed them. I can say that the engine spun over much more quickly than with the deep cycles. Since it was on the warm side this afternoon I couldn't really gauge whether or not it took care of the cold start...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

I wouldn't rule it out. The PO did replace the engine so it's worth a look.

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

That was my thoughts. I work in a machine shop so I may whip up a little fixture to thread the GP's into so I can test for an internal failure of some sort. It's really strange; the meter showed no change at all when I tested them in the heads, when I pulled them they measured just fine, so I...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

I called the local Interstate Battery place today and I'm going to go pick up a pair of G31's tomorrow afternoon. I have a boat that needs batteries so the ones in the truck should fit the bill quite nicely. As for the temperatures, I think the high yesterday was in the high 30's or low 40's...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

Just got home and checked the relay. Key off, I have 12.5 volts on the input, 0 on the output. Key on, engine off I have 11.1 volts on input and output. Key on, engine running: Input has 14.2 volts Driver's alternator: 14.2 Passenger's alternator: 28.6 (am I doing something wrong with my...

Minimum voltage for reliable 60g heating?

Yes, IIRC I checked the voltage to/from the relay and there was a slight drop going through. I'll double check when I get home this afternoon and report back.
