I unbolted it and lifted it to look underneath and it would only go up so far before putting too much stress on the AC lines. I blew some compressed air through everything to clear out some residual dust but was not able to tell if anything was broken. AC system is tight and full, so I want to...
Trying to identify this rattling noise coming from the Rear AC unit. The overall front and rear system blows cold and compressor runs fine. No leaks.
Think it’s the blower motor? If so, can that be replaced without disturbing the refrigerant lines?
See video for example of the noise:
Yes, I lined the scribes up as with a new pump and it ran without blowing white smoke, but a little rough. I let it get to operating temp and adjusted the pump a hair to the passenger side and it sounds like a new truck. Slightly retarded, just like me.
Reached out to Pensacola Diesel and Jeremy looked at my video and ID'd the issue immediately: Injection Pump Timing was retarded (engine was not burning all the fuel). With his instruction and this magical tool, I was able to precisely set the timing and now the M1165A1 purrs like a kitten...
Yes, tank was drained, check valves removed, filled with fresh diesel and filter replaced. Nozzles are new Bosch PN 0432217276.
I think the pump timing is retarded. I was able to advance it a bit (toward driver side) and now only a little white smoke is coming out of the exhaust. To advance it...
The white smoke was happening before all the repairs, and it was running a bit rougher. I wonder if now, the white smoke is from purging water and old fuel out of the system… Is there a chance it clears up if I let it run For a while to get to operating temp? Can’t think of anything else to replace…
Yep, ordered a low profile 30MM box wrench and tried it yesterday... no go. Pulled the Alternator and made for easy access. Wasn't that bad... getting the bottom mounting bold through upon reinstall was the trickiest part.
You know that special feeling of hope & fear when you complete a big job and are about to start up the truck?
You take a drink of an iced-cold beverage as you triple-check EVERYTHING, pause a second and turn the ignition?
Well, it didn't blow up, but it did give me a big womp-womp... blowin...
Anyone with a REV truck been able to replace the front two driver-side injector nozzles without removing the Alternator? Too tight to use the socket...
Compared the ECV to the REV and it's about 3" lower! I have read some old posts about the primary cause being worn springs. Anything else I should look at replacing>
Anyone got a recommendation for replacement springs? Need to go up about 2-3"
